The S-Band Transmitter Field Strength Test Program measured field strength of an S-Band transmitter at Goldstone dry lake (the airport) and all over Arizona, California and Nevada to establish scientific data about real space losses of RF signals. BFEC contracted with NASA Goddard to conduct the study during a nine monthe period over 1965 and 1966. Steve Wooden who was with the program furnished the information and photos seen here.
